Being Beautiful Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives and outcomes of youth in foster care. Having a life-long love and compassion for children and having mentored, fostered and adopted children of her own, Valerie formed Being Beautiful Foundation as a platform to help at risk youth in foster care.
“Imagine a place where children, who have only known fear, pain and hunger, learn to laugh, play trust and love”. The goal of the Being Beautiful Foundation is to educate and promote awareness for other families to “get involved” by opening their homes to children who are less fortunate by providing a safe, stable and nurturing environment for them to grow, learn and develop.
The mission of Being Beautiful Foundation is to provide safe loving homes for at risk youth in foster care. The department of human services in Philadelphia reports there are over 4,000 youth presently in their care and over 40% of them are teens 13 and older. Our goal is to provide homes for these children headed by nurturing and caring adults dedicated to enriching their lives.
Our programs provide food, clothing, therapeutic services and housing for up to 6 children per household. Our housing model combines the program benefits of larger congregate care along with the personal love, care and attention of traditional residential home living. The goal is to provide interim or long term housing and care for these youth until they can either successfully re-unite with their biological parents or receive permanent placement with a loving adoptive family.
Corporate contributions and private donations are used to support the Being Beautiful Foundation cause of helping children who are at risk of abuse or neglect in the Philadelphia and metropolitan areas through the Being Beautiful Residential Living, Foster Care Awareness, Camp Butterfly and Arts Scholarship programs for foster youth.
Being Beautiful Foundation is an approved United Way Donors Choice Organization. Our Donors Choice Giving code is 52298. You may register through your employer to make tax deductible contributions.
